I am back in Greece now, on the island of Kos. So I am looping back to Athens and the trip home in a few weeks.

Actually, I am only about 12 miles from where I was in Bodrum. I could see Kos from the hotel. But somehow it feels further than just driving across the border. And makes me think about the ancient Greeks sailing around the Aegean.

The town of Kos is adorable. There are old fishermen mending their nets by the harbor.

There is a lovely square with cafes and children playing.

The empty chairs are for the dancing later for Independence Day, which I did skip. And there are lots of little medieval lanes winding around ruins.

And no tour groups. Although the bars are there for parties later in the year. Right now it’s peaceful and friendly.
