On our way back from Reserve we began the day on the banks of the San Francisco River.
Then we drove up a lovely canyon to Pie Town. We restrained ourselves to a small lemon chess pie and quickly drove on.
Joany talked me into going to the Very Large Array Visitors Center. I have been ignorantly driving by thinking it was obvious what was there, a lot of big dishes. Turns out that there is fascinating cutting edge astronomy going on, gamma ray bursts, black holes, etc. And they really are impressive up close.
And the Plains of San Augustin are the perfect place for a massive isolated installation. That is not really bothered by wind.
